College pupils to remember landmark truce

Students from Mildenhall College of Technology are to create a sculpture to mark the centenary of the First World War’s landmark events.

Pupils from the college’s Bury Road and Sheldrick Way campuses have teamed up with students from the Gymnasium Theodorianum, in Paderborn, Germany, to build and design the piece of art to commemorate the famous Christmas Truce.

Taking place in 1914 the Christmas Truce was a series of widespread, unofficial ceasefires that took place along the Western Front between German and British troops.
